4. Tough one....#1 I guess because it's so hard to use!

5. My husband's birthday cake in the Wilton firetruck pan over 4 years ago. It took two hours for me to do all those *@$% stars! And I still decided to do it as a hobby!

1. Oh Lord! $1000s over the last few years!

2. I doubt if I've come close to what I've spent in supply gathering, but I never let a cake go for anything less than cost (unless it's a gift!). My average cake goes for $50.

3. 3 & 21, I like decent-sized borders!

4. All those weird ones I don't know how to use icon_wink.gif!

5. I've been baking for 30 years, so it's too hard to remember - but my first sold cake was a Bear in the Big Blue house birthday cake for a 2 year-old (in my photos), that was 3 years ago!

1. How much money have you spent on cake supplies?
I have probably spent around $300 on supplies and I am fairly new to this.

2. Have you payed your expenses with the cakes you've sold?
No, because I haven't sold any cakes yet. I am not licensed to sell and can't get licensed in TX.

3. What is your favorite tip?
Tip #352. I love doing different types of leaves.

4. What is your least favorite tip?
Tip #104. I just can't get the hang of roses to save my life.

5. What was your first ever cake?
Before I started taking the Wilton courses I baked cakes for my kids all the time, but I just slapped canned frosting on them. The rainbow cake for the Wilton 1 course is the first one I have done and actually decorated.

1. icon_eek.gif THOUSANDS easily. Didn't spend much when I was doing freebies for the past 18 years...didn't do that many. Now, I'm ordering and buying supplies at least once a week.

2. Not even close. Anything that someone requests, I say, "Sure I can do it." Then, end up having to order what's needed for the order! LOL. Great way to build up an inventory quickly.

3. I LOVE the star tip!!!

4. That darned drop flower. I can do them on a plate, on the counter, on the ceiling, anywhere...just not on a cake for some reason! icon_cry.gif

5. I've been decorating cakes for years for employers and on my own. My first PAID cake was a wedding cake done three years ago. A five tiered heart cake...the icing was dark purple!!! You KNOW those pictures looked great with everyone having purple teeth! LOL. icon_biggrin.gif

I think I have that exact tip you're talking about, and you're right, it's pretty much useless! I've used it exactly once and even then it would've been much easier and prettier to make hearts with a round tip! I just can't resist buying things like that though!!!

Don't keep track. I've been spending a lot on fondant supplies and cookie cutters lately. Been doin this for as long as I can remember.

2. Have you payed your expenses with the cakes you've sold? Lately I have been using my cookie money to buy new supplies. Trying to save for a new double oven, but I keep finding new tools to play with and spending my money on those. LOL!!! Luckily my hubby is a spender too.

3. What is your favorite tip? #32 - my fav for borders

4. What is your least favorite tip? Drop flower tip - can't do them for the life of me. Even after 30 years of cakes.

I keep a running tally and so far in two years over 10,000.00 but I have no regrets. I have almost every tip and pans I haven't even used as well as cake displays that I haven't used but hopefully in the future.

I know I am addicted.

I like tip 104 and 67 but never use the icer one

I like doing the wedding cake in class 3.

I think that is the one I got the most excited about.

QUESTIONS:::

What is a tip 220?

What is a Victorian rose?

What is the curved petal tip for and how do you use it?

How much have I spent? A few hundred, but most of my stuff was gifts.
Haven't sold them yet, so NO
Tip #1 - love the ability to add such tiny details!
Star tips, any of them.
First decorated cake that I remember was a doll cake in high school, replicated the one my gramma made every year for me. My home ec teacher had never seen one, and neither had the bakery I worked part time. I LOVED it there! The decorator iced, and I just did the decorations under her direction. Learned a lot, but it was many years ago.
