Hi fellow cake decorators,
I am looking for help with a couple of things. The first on is my gel colors from Wilton, the problem that I am having is the when the jars fall over, they seem to run all over the place. This is happening when I have to take most of the colors to work to decorate a cake. Then there is the problem that my stacked cakes seem to lean some when they have to sit any time.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Your fellow cake decorator,
Judy
First I threw away my wilton colors, they are awful. You should try Americolor. I attached a link so you can look at theri website. I have the small bottles from country kitchen - box was $13. You can put one drop at a time in the frosting which is very helpful espically if you have to mix colors to come to a new color.

Now for stacked cakes
I believe on the home page their is an article on stacked cakes maybe read that. are slicing the cake evenly. Are the dowels rods if using cut to the same height?
Hi Judy! As far as the gel colors are concerned, I think the concentrated pastes from Wilton work much better, and they do not spill, they are in gel form. You may want to try dowels in your cakes to prevent tipping, I usually put three wooden dowels in the cake for support, but then again I usually have another tier on top, so Im not quite sure what you would do with only one tier! I hope I offered some help! Good Luck!!
