I went to Michael's today to get one of those 18 count buckets of 4 oz. bottles since I had a 50% coupon. It rang up $4 something! I told the girl it wasn't right, so she went and got the little sticker on the shelf to scan. Still ran up at the four dollar price! She asked a manager who said maybe they were part of clearance and just didn't get marked. I don't know if this is just a mistake at my Michael's, but it would be worth checking out in your area. If they will let you use the coupon, even better! (These are the bottles that a coupler and tips will fit.) I bought three buckets!!

They are in with the candy-making supplies. It's a clear round tub containing 18 4-oz plastic squeeze bottles that you can use for just about anything (I've used them to ice cookies) and the top is the same size as a coupler ring, so you can fit any icing tip to the top of the bottle.

I had bought one in the spring. Now I'll definitely have to check these when I go into work tomorrow! Thanks for the heads up, and if it was only a fluke, then lucky you for finding it! Hurrah!

I did not see the bucket of bottles at Michaels but I plan to go tomorrow to find them. Thanks for letting us know. The 20" X 30" foam boards 3/16" thick are on sale for 98 cents until Sat. Actually they were out of the 3/16" so she let me have the 1/2" for 98 cents each. They rang up 4.99. These make great cake drums. Cut to whatever size or shape you need.

Thanks addietx for the heads up on the foam board! I guess I'll have to force myself to go back. icon_wink.gif Sorry I wasn't clear on the bottles. They are on a bottom shelf in the candy making section- next to the chocolate fountains. Hope everyone can find them.

I just got back from Michaels. I purchased the last bucket of bottles for 3.89. They were priced 12.99 on the shelf. What a deal! I got a rain check for 2 more buckets. Thanks so much for the post.

I got the last bucket at my Michaels store. It was on clearance so I don't know if this would be considered a discontinued item. They usually don't put it on clearance if they are going to continue to carry it!

cupcakes, I was told that since they are a clearance item that they will no longer be carrying that item, so once they are gone, that's it... she said something like, wilton might not be offering that product anymore or if they do, they will be a different size.

My coupler rings are too big for a tight fit on the bottles. I won't be able to change the tips. Has anyone else tried with success?

Addietex- The Wilton brand couplers don't fit well. The ones I use on the bottles I bought at a cake supply store. I'm sorry - don't know the brand and it isn't on the coupler anywhere. They are slightly taller than Wilton's, the opening is a little larger and the threads are different. They also don't have that "U"-shaped notch cut out of opening. If you are not able to find them, let me know and I'll check here and see if I can get some more.

Okay - I went to the Country Kitchens site and one of the couplers that they sell looks like the one I have. It is #1000 and is 35 cents. They don't say what brand it is. If someone has ordered this from them, maybe they could tell us if it fits the 4 oz. bottles.

Thanks MandyBs. I was getting discouraged. Now I know that there are rings out there that will fit so that I can change tips.

i got so excited, i went to michael's and bought their last 2 buckets. i just tried to put the coupler on, and it just keeps spinning. well, i'll still use the lid that came with it. that's actually what i use now anyways.

Kneadacookie- You will have to find some non-Wilton couplers for the bottles. Try a cake supply store or an online site - they are not very expensive. Have fun with your bottles!

Thanks for the tip, MandyBs! I went to my local Michael's after work yesterday and bought the last two buckets they had for $3.89 each. Great bargain seeing as they were $12.99 at one point.

If your coupler rings are too large for the bottles, just put a few layers of Saran Wrap or teflon plumber's tape or even Scotch tape around the threads on the bottle. That should give you some added thickness so that the threads on the coupler ring can catch and lock on.

O.K. I got up and was at Michaels when they opened. They had 2 buckets on the shelf. So I took one I got it for $2.08 and that included the tax. The price under the bucket was $12.99. So I called my friend to see if she wanted the last one, so I bought that one for her. Thanks for the posting that they were on sale.

Ok, I am lost......I bought these a couple months ago ( full price icon_sad.gif ) and I don't know exactly what to use them for? Do I put royal in them and just use the little round opening for accents on cookies? Do you use them for chocolate?

I can't find my reciept but was planning on taking them back next week however now I won't bother since I would only get a couple of dollars for them - so maybe I should figure out a way to use them! thx

I love them for painting details in candy molds, and saw them a few months ago, but when I went back to get them they were all gone. The clearance sale would explain their disappearance. lol

They are great for sugar cookie decorating, chocolates and cakes. If you have a coupler that fits, you can use any of your tips, then put the original lid back on with the red tip to save the leftover icing. I was thinking about doing a cookie decorating class for the little girls at church and filling these with all different colors for them to use.
Cakepro- Thanks for the teflon tape idea! I bet the blue painter's tape would also work!

I went to the Michael's here (McKinney, TX) and they had the Wilton bucket of bottles for $12.99. I asked and employee and she gave me the whole "whatever it says is how much it is" speech. I later found another guy (turned out to be a manager) and he scanned it for me and it came up $3.89 for the 18 bottles. He was surprised that they had missed it.

I bought one bucket and as of an hour ago, there is one bucket still there that they had still not marked it down. So unless someone knows about it, it'll probably sit there until a CC'r goes and gets it!

I have never seen them before, but saw this post this morning so I ran to Michael's at lunch and got some. If you guys use them then they must be good to have! icon_smile.gif They were only $3.89... WHAT A STEAL!! There were about 5 left.

Question : can you put buttercream in those to decorate or would that be too thick?? I'm trying to find a better way of writing on cakes so I was thinking maybe those since I can kinda hold it like I would a pen. What do you think??

I just got home from the Michael's in Santa Clarita, CA, and they still have some left. (I bought two buckets there today for $3.89 each, and there was at least one or two more.) The shelf tag still said $12.99, with no indication that it was a clearance item.

Some of my coupler rings fit, I think the Ateco ones.
