What does marzipan taste like? I don't like the taste of Wilton's ready to use fondant, so someone suggested putting marzipan under it. Should I or shouldn't I?
I'm not sure what marzipan tastes like but why don't you try Marshmello fondant. The recipe is on this site and tastes great. Sorry i couldn't answer your origional question but maybe someone else can.
Marzipan is made with almond paste.
Between nut allergies, distinct taste and added cost - marzipan isn't used much in the U.S. as a covering.

FYI, any fondant has to be better than Wilton's.

I don't know that putting marizan under Wilton's fondant will help with the flavor. Maybe help dsiguise it. I'd suggest using a different brand if you don't want to make the MMF.
