I have to make 100 petit fours half hot pink half black. I have tried the poured fondant but found it to be way to sweet i would like to try maybe ganche, but how would i get black and hot pink? Can candy melts be used (ive seen hot pink) but im not to sure about black? Would ganache work for petit fours? Thanks in adavance icon_smile.gif Erlyn

I've never made ganache, but I did find a recipe online for white chocolate ganache. Why not add food coloring to it, and use that?

Here is the website:

Don't forget when using the White chocolate ganache recipe I believe you would have to use the candy colors! Anyone else on this?

you can use real chocolate, you just need to use oil based candy colors instead of gel paste.

I think you could make gnache with dark chocolate and color that black. I wouldn't try to go from white chocolate to black because of the amount of colouring you would need.

I have coloured white chocolate ganache pink using the regular wilton pink icing paste and never had a problem.

I make ganache with 2 cups of chopped candy melts ( any color) and 8 ozs of heavy cream. It's beautifully shiny on these cakes for a mermaid tea party!
