Hi Amber and welcome to the wonderful world of Cake Decorating. The first thing you should know is about the trademark on the character cakes there are somethings you cannot collect money on, i.e. any Disney even the smallest resemblence. I am still trying to figure out which ones to stay away from. Now to your question about pricing there is a matrix somewhere here that can give you that answer but as for me I usually charge $20.00 for an 8 or 9 inch cake (pretty much $20.00 per cake mix) so if I am making a sheetcake and I use 3 mixes I charge $50.00 then if I have a filling I charge another $5.00 not to mention extra charges for more elaborate work. I also charge $10.00 for fondant accessories and if the client wants the whole cake done in fondant well that is $15.00-$20.00 more (sometimes they want marble fondant) and the more work I put in then up goes alittle on price. Good luck.
