Well here's the deal... my god daughter's birthday party is the 23rd and I'm going to be making her a monkey cake and matching monkey cookies. A local CC'er is helping me with the cookies since I've never done decorated cookies before, but I can't figure out how to package them so I need some ideas!!!

I was thinking the Paint Can idea someone here on CC had shown off but I'm not sure I can get my hands on never used before paint can inexpensively... nor could I get a label made for it in time...

I don't want to do cookies on sticks but want to package them nicely in a box or something she can reuse. She's turning 14 and loves little things like that lol.

Anyway I planned on putting them in the little selaphane baggies with twisty ties but wanted a special way to present them to her....

Any ideas are welcome! Pictures are so very very helpful! icon_smile.gif

Thanks in advance!
Becky

Anyone at all have any ideas??? I'm up for anything!!!! Even the craziest silliest or possibly stupidest idea you can come up with! lmao Remember this is for a 14 yr old girl who acts more like she's 5 lmao (seriously she's like stuck as a little kid..) so almost anything will work lol...

I'm just lost and don't know what to do...

If you do decide to put them on sticks, the paint cans are available at Home Depot. I can't remember the prices, but they are pretty inexpensive. As for the label, you could buy sticker paper for the computer and print it yourself.

Could you find some sort of tree display and hang the monkey cookies? Banana cookies?

Well I just called Lowes and asked them how much the empty, never used before cans were and he said $4.48 each... which isn't bad at all!!!! I could get some fancy fabric or something and hot glue it to the can and handle and package them in that and she could reuse it for something... I'm sure she'd find a use lmfao or if not she can give it back and I can reuse it lmfao icon_wink.gif

Thanks Lacie, I don't have a Michaels near me, closest one is an hour and half drive one way...

I'm beginning to think cookies just ain't my thing and I need to stick to cakes icon_cry.gif

I made my first batch of butter cookie dough and forgot to add the vanilla icon_cry.gif so now it's resting in the fridge waiting for someone to answer my question on the other thread weather I should trash it and start all over or weather it's ok to just add the vanilla now that it's all done lol...

I was just so darn excited I forgot it icon_cry.gif... *sigh*

I really like the paint can idea. You can get multi-colored tissue paper (or in the b-day girl's fave colors) coming out of the can to add some pizzazz as well.

I also like to use the photo storage boxes (check out your local wal-mart/target) You can get them in tons of designs, and youc an even find blank ones that you could decorate with a fabric if you find one. These are definitely reusable, whether for photos or anything else laying around.

I use these as well. Found some pretty pink designed ones that I packaged some baby shower cookies in. And the customer was thrilled to have the photo box for keepsakes, photos, etc...
I think I got my at AC Moore for around $2.99

Couldn't you add extra flavoring in the icing to compensate for the lack of it in the cookies? I don't think the cookies have alot of flavor without the icing, anyway! Bake one up and see what you get.

Thanks Gemini! Yeah I planned on trying it out tonight and seeing what comes of it... others have suggested making like a fruit pizza with it...

How about putting them in a natural-colored basket with animal print ribbon ties? Use silk fern/ banana leaves in the basket. I LOVE the tree idea. You could use banana colored ribbon to tie them to the tree. If you don't have animal print or don't want to buy it -- I have used orange and white ribbon and a permanent marker in a pinch. I also have used felt fabric/ marker for a leopard "animal pelt" look. I just took those cheap little felt squares and colored them with a brown and black marker and then cut them into strips. Doesn't have to be perfect.

The decorated paint pails sounded cute. I'd never heard of that so I did a search and found these. Pretty cute.

You're welcome. When you said paint can I just pictured the ones in my laundry room waiting for me to finish up painting the hallway. I couldn't imagine them "pretty!" So I did a search and found tone of stuff. Very clever and looks inexpensive, too.
