A template will work and then cut out with a sharp knife. But personally I would buy one! Always looking to expand my collection.

CopperGifts has one and they probably have all different sizes also.

When I dont have the proper cookie cutter I find a pic on the computer and since my printer is broken I put a piece of wax paper over my screen and trace the design then transfer it onto a piece of cardborad and cut out a template then just trace around it like my green beer mugs in my pics it takes a little longer than a cookie cutter but it works great.

Thanks for your great ideas. I wish i had the time to buy a cookie cutter but my sons teacher asked me yesterday for two dozen apple cookies for friday. SOOO being a person who cant say NO.. Of course is said no problem. I live in a small town that does not have a good supply of cookie cutters. I will just make do and use a template. It is also my dads birthday and my husbands bosses birthday so i have two cakes to make... Why cant i say NO lol

Thanks again

I would use a large heart cutter, then with a "cooking" spoon cut off the tip, (like an upside down U)-does that make sense?

Hey everyone thanks for your ideas. I ended up using a pumpkin cutter and just doing apple colors with a green leaf on it. Kids loved it and teachers raved about it!!

THanks again
Tina
