HELP!!!! I am just getting into the whole cake thing, and I love it by the way, but I need an idea for a cake for my mom. We lost my brother in a car accident in February, so I need something really special. Any ideas???? Oh yeah it is for her birthday!!!

Honestly she doesnt have any hobbies. That is why this is so hard. i like the idea of just doing bright colors. thank you for welcoming me. icon_biggrin.gif

My mom always wants lots of roses! I bought some of the bigger rose tips and had varying sizes of roses!

Sorry about the loss of your brother! She will love what ever you do!

Welcome to CC

Most mums like flowers, so I'm going with that. Maybe some bright coloured daisies on top of a present/ hatbox type cake. Make sure you post it when its done

PS: Sorry for your loss.

Here is what I was thinking. pretty crappy drawing though.

First off very sorry for your loss. Being a mother of a son with a rare cancer I understand some of her pain. I agree that something bright and cheery with flowers would be fine. Like someone said she will really appreciate any gesture of love . Maybe a cake with a fence around it like rickashs and a garden on top. or just a big red heart with a couple roses.
