Has Anyone Made Chocolate Boxes Or Houses?
Sugar Work By CupCake13 Updated 14 Nov 2006 , 8:48pm by RisqueBusiness
I have an idea for the holidays - long story but if it works, I'll definitely post pictures.
Wondered if there's anything I should know. This is something new I'm delving into. And it might be a bit ambitious, but hey, I'm known for just jumping in with both feet.
Hi
I have made chocolate boxes in pastry school. Good fun to do. where cloth gloves when asembling to reduce finger marks. Or spray with chocolate to give a texture look. I made a train with carriages for my chocolate box. All the carriages had the chocolates in.
Never made a house though. Post some photos and let us know what it looks like.
Would good silicone gloves work too? I didn't think about finger marks. What I'm wanting to do would work well with either white chocolate or royal coated gingerbread - but chocolate would give me a sharper edge.
Hm. Now ya have me thinkin. Thanks!
silicon gloves may work but cloth work better as it stops the heat from your fingers affecting the chocolate. Maybe double treble glove??
i made chocolate boxes in Culinary school. I used part Guittard tempered bittersweet chocolate (I believe it's 65%) and part coating chocolate. I used latex gloves only because I hate getting my hands dirty but if you spray it with Chocolaq, it will give the shiny finish to it.
)
yes you can make chocolate boxes and houses, they even have chocolate house molds!
We wore the latex gloves at school and it was fine!
