No it isn't. It's candy coating and doesn't need tempered. The flavor is different from white chocolate too.

Thanks! I have a friend who doesn't like white chocolate, so I can use this with different flavoring! I think I'll use Cheesecake oil by Lorann. Any tips?

Make sure it's an oil base and not a water base, some of the Loranns is water. The Wilton colored and white candy melts are also vanilla flavored, they're pretty good and you don't have to mess around with coloring them, I like them better than almond bark.
