I want to create a star attached to wire made out of royal icing, and then stick it in the cake. So there will be stars sticking out of the cake.
My question is if I use red royal icing, can I use white shimmer dust? Or do I need to get the red colored dust?
I have white, and would rather not have to buy red if not necessary.
If not I'll make the cake shimmer and the stars flat.
It's a very small cake. A 6" tier and a baby tier.
I think you could use the white and it would look like Star dust. that is what I would use, if you wanted to test it you could always wipe a lil icing on a paper plate and sprinkle a lil on there just to see. But I think it would be great. Sounds like its going to be really Pretty! post the pic and let me see! I'm just noisy like that. hahaha
~Sweet~ =0)
Yes, I use white shimmer dust for just about every color of icing, it just adds an irridescent sparkle to whatever it touches. I always use a light coat - the more you use, the whiter it appears! Have fun!
