I want to airbrush a cake with luster dust and I need to know the mixture to use. I have never done this before. I do not have any vodka so I need to use something else. The color I will be using is gold. I am wondering about it clogging the airbrush. All help is GREATLY appreciated! icon_biggrin.gif

I actually just airbrushed a cake with gold luster dust yesterday. I use a vodka because it doesn't crystalize like the clear vanilla does. I don't drink, but I bought a big bottle of vodka for the bakery just for this reason. I like using it far better than the vanilla. You just have to make sure that you keep stiring your mixture, otherwise the luster dust settles to the bottom of your mixture. I would just mix some up in a tiny container and then spoon it into my airbrush. Make sure you clean your airbrush really well afterwards, and you shouldn't have a problem.
