My first post, so please help. I wanna make a banana cake from a mix but I wanna give it a little more flavor, can I add a package of pudding to it with an extra egg? I remember reading that on here somewhere. TIA.
I add the pudding, but not the egg. But I bet that would be fine too. Welcome to posting.
You sure can. A lot of people on here use this method, but also increase the liquid slightly-usually replacing the water with milk. Give it a try and see how you like it.
the extender recipe:

(and for a banana cake, I'd skip the yogurt/sour cream and toss in one very ripe banana (and maybe two)
I don't know, but seems like it should work. At least this will bump you so someone else can see and give you some advice. Have you tried extracts to boost the flavor? We're not big fans of banana cake so I don't know about that specifically, but I've added extracts to boost other flavors.

I used an extender recipe on here. I still honestly think it tasted like a box cake, but maybe that was just me. I am so use to making them from scratch.
Are you just wanting banana flavor or are you looking for something more like a banana bread?
You said you want more flavor, what do you mean? More banana or just more flavorful. I feel that banana can get overpowering if not done correctly.
Let me know, you can PM me if you like.
I really wanna it just to be more flavorful.
What does adding the extra egg and pudding do anyways?
Here's an easy banana cake recipe:
