OK all, I think a column needs to be started called, "ASK INDY".....
For those of you who are not familiar with Debbie, she's hilarious and ruthlessly to the point. No one dare mess with this firecracker or her cakes. She always has the best answers on how to handle all kinds of situations. So, on the category icons, there needs to be one titled, "ask Indy". There might be a sticky to express to people to follow this advice at your own risk................ Dear Abby has nothin' on this gal!!!!!!!!!!
Who's with me on this? Let's see if Jackie and Keith will agree to add this. All in humor of coarse. We could put together a compilation of famous quotes of the month from her. Indy, are you willing??????????????
One more thought on this, anyone remember the fruitcake lady on Jay Leno? This lady was ancient. And people would call into her for advice and she would light them up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the funniest thing you ever saw!!!!!!!!!!! She was the grumpiest woman you ever did see, but the things she came up with would leave you rollin'. I can see the Ask Indy forum being like that. No need for niceties, let "em have it girl! Now, Debbie is not "ancient" nor is she grumpy, she just speaks her mind.
Does anyone here ever watch or have heard of Talk ___ w/ Sue? lol It's the funniest show I've ever seen! I like to think Debi and Sue are related in some way lol. Because like Sue, Debi gives advise that is not only true and should be common sense but is very very helpful!!!
I think there should also be an Ask Debi forum, IF of course, Debi would like one lol
I used to have a Blog where it was nothing but an advise column lol was very nice and very fun! Loved having it. Think it'd be great if Debi liked the idea!
Oh my goodness, ohmygooddies, what are you watching in your spare time? Not really, Yep, it is hilarious to watch this grandmother give "adult" advice on television! She's so straight forward and doesn't blink an eye with her props. Very funny stuff. I think this forum should definately not be strictly cake related at all. It can be a place like the lounge where anything goes. C'mon Indy, Heath and Jackie, let us have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's see if Jackie and Keith will agree to add this.
OMG ! When did Jackie & Heath split up, and just who is this Keith guy - enquiring minds want to know???
Seriously though, I think this would be a hilarious idea !
You guys crack me up!! When I share these stories with my hubby, he just shakes his head and says, "They've no idea what they're doing to me!!
I am so glad you take my comments in stride and find them entertaining! That is the highest compliment and I sorely thank you all for that!!
One of the best compliments we ever got was a friend who said, "I bet you guys laugh a lot in your house." We said, 'As a matter of fact, we do!" Friends who came to visit from England called it The Phil and Debi Show"!
In my collection of quotes, I offer one from me:
As you play the Game of Life you might as well play to have fun. Because its winner-take-all and Death always wins.
--Debi Brim
And......
A day without laughter is a day wasted.
-- Charlie Chaplin
And.....
Don't take life so seriously .... you'll never get out of it alive.
---Bugs Bunny
Luv you all!!
Let's see if Jackie and Keith will agree to add this.

lol how funny
Yes just who is Kieth??? And Debi.... is that saying you would want an advise column here on CC???? If they'd allow it of course
Debi, I have to tell you that I so enjoy your posts on CC!!
I had a very dear friend (we both used to live in TX) and she was named Debbie and was from Indianapolis. I lost her to cancer 6 years ago and miss her terribly. Your comments remind me of her so much!! It always makes me smile! We sure shared a lot of laughs over the years. Must be how they raise 'em in Indy!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful compliment! I'm sorry to hear of your friend and am very humbled that you equate our personalities.
LMAO!!!! As many posts as there.... Perhaps right under "The Lounge" would be "Ask Indydebi". And for the description of this forum - something along the lines of.... "Need to remember how to say no? Got a bridezilla that needs her mind made up? Indydebi will help with her special love for whiny, overdramatic and generally rude people who need a swift kick in the a.."
I'll tell ya what, all jokes aside for a minute, if you ever need a question answered or help with something Debi is the one to ask! She has helped me a few times in the past and is truly an asset to Cake Central!
Don't forget her great advice on how to handle psychotic people (Boy could my friends and I use you here now!)
AND she gives lots of quick and helpful advice if you PM her with a question.
Love the Ask IndyDebi idea!! A live chat would be fun too. . .
I'm such a ditz! I saw, "when did Jackie and Heath split up?" I thought, oh no, how terrible, then I realized what I had done. Didn't mean to be a home wrecker.
This could be the first Dear Indy post:
What to do about home wreckers?
Sounds like Indy may be up for it, Lord help us. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
This is a seriously great idea! In the short time I've been here Debi has become one of my real favorites to read.
I have to admit, I always look forward to see what indydebi has to say. And I always look forward to a good laugh.
Love the bracelet idea. How about a coffee mug with the same phrase? Someone on here, can't remember her name has an avitar of a mean old lady getting ready to beat someone with a rolling pin. We could put a picture like that of Debbie on there. Since I came up with the ask Debbie idea, can I have one for free?
That leads to problem #2.
Dear Debbie, there is a person we know who is trying to get something for nothing, what would you do about that?
Hey Debi,
The next time I'm in Indy, may I have your autograph, or are you charging for them already?!? I'm proud to say, "I knew you when...."
"Let them eat cake!!!!!"
Debi for President!!!!!
Seriously though, Debi gives some great advice and is willing to share her vast knowledge and tricks of the trade with the fledglings of cake baking/decorating.
A GREAT BIG THANKS TO DEBI!!!!!
Someone on here, can't remember her name has an avitar of a mean old lady getting ready to beat someone with a rolling pin.
That would be kansaslaura, who is one of MY favorite people on here!
The rolling pin avatar is kansaslaura. Love this idea, too. Indydebi has rapidly become one of my favorites, too.
I completely put my weight behind this idea, and there's alot of me! I mentioned this in passing in another post, although I'm sure I'm not the first. Yes Debbie you remind me of my wonderful late mother who used to dispense the same no nonsense advice approach, I always look forward to your comments, alot ot the time you say what I would say only much better!
I think we really do need an ask Debbie column for sure. We should make newbies read it before posting the hundreth millionth question on how much would you charge for this cake? Because by the time they get through the column they should have their entire business set up and ready to go!
I think this is a great idea! indydebi always has some insight or way of responding to a situation or question. Sometimes I read threads to my husband and he,too, likes to hear what indydebi has to say about a situation.
Kathi
oh I love this idea ,I love to read any post indydebi has anything to say about. And after her advise to my post my DH think she is the wiseest baker I know.
