than the price matrix..numbers and I are not close friends icon_rolleyes.gif I'm looking for something a bit more basic.

For instance a plain old cake (whatever flavor) with a bc frosting or something similar with your basic decorations would cost________for a 6", ________ for an 8" and so on to a 10".

Then a bit more detailed a cake..say a barbie or a teapot..or any other cake that is more detailed and uses fondant would be approximately _______.

Also wondering what you all charge for decorated cookies? Do you charge per cookie or per half doz/ doz?

I am doing a shopping night at a local school where it will be my first attempt at marketing my home cake business and I have no idea what to charge for these things.

TIA for the advice!!

The easiest ways to do this are to go to a local bakery and see what they offer in their display cases. Or make phone calls to see what they are offering at what price.

Another thing you can do is to go to websites - for instance, if you want to research wedding cakes in your vicinity, go to a search engine like Google and put in the following phrase

wedding cakes in (then add your location or state). I am sure that at least one bakery in your state has a website. Then adjust your prices according to what you think your local market will bear.
