my super wal-mart has them right now!!! However, I've made one of those with the boxed kit thingy.....and it seems to me the orange stuff they make you brush on the cake is just orange jello! I threw the bowl in my sink with some still in it and later that day it looked exactlly like jello in the bowl!!

Creamsicle is my favorite cake and I'm starting to notice that the DH Orange Supreme cake mixes are few and far between anymore. Everytime I run across them I buy 5-10 mixes. Do you think you could possibly use a white cake mix and add a box of orange jello? Hmmm. I'm not an expert baker by any means, but not sure how jello would react being baked. What about a white cake and then just using your orange coffee syrup and orange extract? Are you using the Creamsicle recipe from this site? If so, you might want to PM the author (think her name is wendoger??)..... she is the creator and may have some ideas for you! Hope I didn't confuse you too much!!

Here's a recipe from this site that I have used quite a few times, but I have noticed the following...

It doesn't make as much or rise as much as a cake mix does, I always add a pkg of Dream Whip and an extra egg to the recipe and that it seems to get dry quickly, so really keep an eye on it in the oven and get it out of the pan as soon as it comes out of the oven. (okay...coming down from my soapbox now icon_razz.gif )

Good luck!!!!!

heres the link to lorann's orange cream flavor:
http://www.lorannoils.com/Productsdetail.asp?ProductName=ORANGE+CREAM+FLAVOR

i use their strawberry oil in my strawberry cake and its fabulous. lorann oils are super concentrated flavoring, use it in any white or yellow cake recipe, or cake mix. you only need about 1/8-1/4 tsp per batch. it varies between flavors, i noticed that with strawberry i need 1/4 tsp. just add slowly and taste it until it tastes right. they're expensive, but because you use so little, it lasts a long time. don't put hte vanilla extract in, just use the flavoring. i add it to toba garrett's yellow cake recipe, a little icing color for effect, and it works perfect!

I make my peach cake with peach flavored jello and it turns out wonderfully. The baking does not react negatively at all. I just make sure that I add an extra egg and a bit more oil then what the directions say. I am sure that it would work for orange and a box cake mix. Sounds yummy, let us know how it turns out. Best of luck! thumbs_up.gif

I haven't tried it but I hear its good if you mix in a box of gelatin (dissolve in hot water first) and use a couple tbsp of orange extract...I have heard this being done with a lemon and a white box mix.....
Then just add your extender ingredients.

The orange coffee syrup is always good tooicon_wink.gif

When I started using real sour cream in the mix is when people started saying stuff...like how good it is. They just go nuts over the cakeicon_wink.gif

I have had a really hard time finding the orange cake mix as well. So I found this recipe here on CC for an orange cake, made from a white cake mix and orange jello mix. Here is the link...
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-141-0-Orange-Party-Cake-I.html
I LOVE the recipe here on CC for orange creamsicle...that is the recipe I used to use, but like I said I cant find the orange cake mix without buying the whole big kit from DH. So now I make the orange cake from the recipe above and then follow the rest of the recipe from the orange creamsicle. Here is the link to the creamsicle recipe.

I am telling you...you need to try this recipe. My customers LOVE it! Good luck!
