Can you replace the butter in the nfsc with crisco? Would it take different? I have someine with a dairy allergy. Or does someone have a great dairy free recipe for a roll out cookie. TIA

I'm not sure if using Crisco would work... I use margarine when making mine, just check to make sure there's no dairy in the margarine.
Maybe someone else out there has some idea about the crisco?

Crisco will make the cookies spread more and be a little crunchy on the edges. Maybe if you used a little less Crisco it would be okay. I would want to experiment on a small batch.

I don't use or have margarine on hand. Have you used the recipe with butter before and do you notice any difference in the cookies.

I've only ever used butter and they hold their shape beautifully. I too would be concerned that they would spread with Crisco.
