Looks like we're going to get 450+ by the time I print it out and take it in! That is amazing and awesome. When I started the petition, I told DH, "I'm not taking it in if I can't get 100, it will just look silly." Wow, were my expectations exceeded!

It's official, Texas Cottage Food Law.com is up and running! There is even a very rudimentary discussion forum. That is where I'm going to try to move most of this effort (at least my part of it). I will be posting there tomorrow after my meeting.

p.s. I baked the Senator and his staff a cake. What kind of cake lady would I be if I didn't?

I am so glad to see this post. Alas I am a foreigner (Legal) living in the great state of Texas so I cannot write to the state rep. I also love to bake and my community of fellow expats want cakes that remind them of their home countries although they love the cakes in Texas too. They REALLY do! However it would be nice to be able to legally serve that community with cakes that remind them of their home countries. One of the reasons that I came to this lovely country is OPPORTUNITY. Opportunity to work hard and be rewarded. So I can only hope and pray for all the lovely ladies taking time out of their lives to contact their state reps about this.
