Hi everyone! At a recent cake club meeting (my last before I moved away from the area) we decorated Halloween sugar cookies and I loved it! It was so creative and so much fun! So, now that I'm a tad more settled in Tennessee, I baked my first batch of sugar cookies tonight! I used Toba Garrett's recipe, and think it was a tad too soft. She also didn't call for any refridgeration, which I found problematic. I"m going to try the No Fail recipe tomorrow after I finish the batch I made tonight.
I'm so excited to get into cookies too!
Rachel
Cookies can be a lot of fun. I like the No Fail recipe. It always comes out well.
It depends on the look you want but I recently did some cookies that I covered with fondant. Using the same cookie cutter as I used for the cookies, I cut out a thin layer of fondant and put on the cookies using a little corn syrup for 'glue'. Then I used the thicker version of Toba's glace for putting on dots, swirls, etc. It was pretty easy and tasted good.
Be sure and post some pictures of your cookies!
Cindy
