I got my first paid cake order for Sunday icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

She wants a marble sheet cake. I want to really impress people so any suggestions on what to do to make a marble cake mix better.

I didn't know if doing the dream cake doctor recipe or anything else? I didn't know if I could doctor it up like the WASC cake and just use vanilla flavoring...i don't know!

Anything would be appreciated. Thanks

All I know is that you don't use a chocolate recipe, and a white recipe..... add chocolate to the white to make it chocolate, or it won't bake at the same rate.......( chocolate cake takes longer to bake than white )

I did a recipe just recently from the Cake Mix Doctor Book. You just added like a chocolate, kind of, batter to your white or yellow cake. You mix 2 Tbsp. of semi-sweet chips with 1 tblsp. milk and water and then you heat these up until melted. After you get your batter into the pan you spoon this over your batter and then drag a knife through it. It was sooo yummy!
I don't know if this was posted in the other thread but, I liked it better than just putting chocolate cake into the white!

when making marble cake I always make up one chocolate cake and one white cake (I use a box mix and add in a box of dry pudding and an extra egg). This is the same way I doctor all of my cake mixes.

Then I mix them in the pan and swirl for the marble. I have never had problems with them baking differently.
