I will never again make petite fours with chocolate cake and white poured fondant. EVER. And I will never again try to use recipes that measure in the metric scale when all I have are cups!
petite fours are just a pain in the rear no matter what. But yes, I would think trying to cover chocolate with white would really make it challenging! Take a deep breath and relax!! Good for you for tackling that and your metric to cups measurements!
funny thing? I didn't tackle it. lol. I TOTALLY messed up. I went online to find out how many cups of flour is 8oz (1 cup ). For some reason the computer spit back 2.284 cups. Oye. and I needed 8 oz of cake flour and 8oz of all purpose....equalling WAY too much. I tried to save it by adding more of everything else.... I didn't like it... my husband did... so I made a chocolate cake cause I know I make awesome chocolate cake and I wouldn't mess up (I'm taking some cake in to some event for other marine wives and I refuse to bring something if I don't like it myself). I had made a chocolate truffle ganache for the white cake I messed up, but had always thought that chocolate on chocolate cake was too much chocolate, so I wanted something white. and pretty. oye....
