feeling a bit better gingerkitten... cant wait till this flu season is over. Trying to get better when you have a 21 month & 5 month old to look after (who are also suffering from colds) is bloody hard!!!!!!!!!

Have been unable to find inspiration to even eat cake at the moment, let alone decorate. Gosh our aussie contingent is getting BIG!! How great is it to introduce ourselves????

Looking forward to swapping ideas and pics. I have a few to load from classes but have to find the time to nag my hubby into doing it!! icon_wink.gif

good to hear LiliS... i feel your pain!

I's so happy to see so many of us out there! but then again that means competition!! i lay claim to inner north melbourne!! lol!
I've only bought from cakedeco in the city before and i find him to be a bit strange but he does have great stuff and the ladies are all very helpful! As for the cake man down stairs, i found him very rude and abrupt... Really gave me a bad feeling.
I know willaim angliss do a cake decorating short course, but i dont know the details, its on my other computer.
Will post tonight.

the litlle liqid colours , 30ml bottles of rose pink and wedgewood blue etc are what all my pinks and blues that eveyone always messages me about are based on

they are really good and fast to get stuff out to you

another Aussie here!
I'm from Tassie. icon_biggrin.gif
I found CC about a year ago and it's been great. I've learn't so much already.
I actually started out working with clay and making miniatures, and I love to bake and figured I could switch to sugar instead of clay. haha
There aren't that many resources for Cake decorating in Tassie, there is only an adult ed class that you can take. And one cake shop. the lady there is really lovely and is always helping me out with recipes and such.

It's great to see so many Aussies on here!!

what a great thread, I am getting so much info about suppliers etc already. I had a mad hatter workshop at Greensborough yesterday. We just made RTR roses and learnt how to make a bow. I actually think I found on here a better way to make the roses so I will give it a go sometime this week.

Hi everyone! Gee I can't believe it's taken me this many pages before I found this thread! icon_redface.gif
I blame it on my son's 6th birthday party on the weekend from which I am STILL recovering! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
I had 17 kids and 16 parents at home with a jumping castle. The only thing that saved the day was the champage sorbets us adults sipped on all day! icon_surprised.gif

Hi curvy ! If your champagne sorbets are what we call champagne slushies ( sorbet & champagne mixed in a blender ? ) then YUMMY !!! I love them icon_biggrin.gif

Quick question guys, what cake tin should I use to make the equivalent of a sheet cake ? anyone made these ?
thanks icon_biggrin.gif

I have a large slab tin which I bought from a cake decorating shop that I use which is sorta like a sheet cake I guess. My mum has bought me a smaller rectangular pan which I'll be using soon.

I just thought a sheet cake was a rectangular tin??? No?????? icon_confused.gificon_confused.gif

Hi there Jules!
Yes, that's what we drank Champage and lemon sorbet mixed together. thumbs_up.gif They are divine and very moorish! Everytime that I offer them, my guests keep asking for more! icon_lol.gif
My friend sold me on them as she served them at a lingerie party she hosted and it worked, cos we all blew our budgets and bought heaps of bras! icon_lol.gif

Hoorah for champers slurppies and sexy bras!
i tell you what is excellent for spring...
One bottle of a fruity champers
a couple of panama passionfruit http://gourmet.ninemsn.com.au/gourmettraveller/features/features305.asp
and a bottle of lychee juice (big supermarkets)
Add to a glass about 1/3 juice, top with champers slowly because it will go crazy and then scoop a little of the fresh passionfruit pulp onto it...
the seeds will float up and down like a lava lamp and its sooo yummy!!
I used to be a bar girl- truuust me!

Beany, I will have to check out all those sites, there are some that I haven't tried yet.
Does anyone know where I can get boxes tall enough for a 3d cake?
I can find cake boxes at my supply shop but the lids come down too low for the cake that I need it for.
