Can someone please help me with this question. Does anyone know an easy way to calculate how to increase or decrease the ingredients for different sized cakes, eg if I know what I need for a 20cm cake, how do I work out for larger or smaller cakes.
Appreciate any help
Thanks
Cheryl
Chezz i am bumping this question because i would like to know myself. i guess i would go by this theory " if one cake mix makes this cake, how much volume is in this tin and how many tins can i fit into this tin" does that make sense? I would fill my 20cm up with water and then use that to fill up my 10inch square.
It makes sense in my mind!!
YES!! That is exactly what I have been doing for years - especially good when you have the odd shaped novelty tins. Once you know that your 'standard' mix is eg. 3cups then you can use that to work out how many times recipe mix you will require. (only fill the tin with water to where the mix would normally come - not to the TOP of the tin)
You will need to consider adjusting temperatures and cooking times
Thanks for the theories on the cake mixture, all information taken on board for later use.
Barbara, your family looks lovely, glad your day went well
the bike is almost finished! i have posted it over on the other forum as i can put it all in one thread there.

Barabara.... your family is beautiful!!! Now I didn't forget about your question!! The roller for HELLO KITTY'S dress was bought online from a company in England. Lovely ladies run this business and are very helpful with any questions you might have. www.apieceofcakethame.co.uk another site where I have bought equipment is www.celcrafts.co.uk
Has anyone noticed with the new updated CC, all the cakes from 2-3 years ago coming out of the woodwork on all time favourites??? FRAN, your Tiffany boxes were there a minute ago!
Ta Jules, probably didn't realise, just read and thought 'sounds ok to me', as you can see I'm not always quick on the uptake. Must be my rapidly declining old age

sorry, didn't mean for that to go through twice. While I am at the begging stage, could I also ask for a white mudcake recipe, have a few but not overly happy with them.
Thanks again (humbly begging your patience with me)
