Is a full sheet 2 12X 18 sheets put together or 2 11X15? Also, what do I charge for a full sheet. I had charged $25 for an 11X15, do I charge $50 for a ful sheet? Thanks for your input, I really need to get a price list made up!

I think 25 for a half sheet is cheap!!! But if that's what you charge.....then yes I would double it for a full sheet. The size of the half sheet is under much debate.......for some people it is a 12x18 and for some it's 11x15......I have a pan that is 12x18 and it says "half sheet cake pan" on it......so that's what I conside MY half sheet cake to be. I don't think it really matters as long as your customer understands what YOU consider to be a half and full sheet cake!!

I guess I would do 2 11x15 for a full sheet. I charge $1.50 per serving ($90 for 1-11x15 double layer) and that's with a basic border and writing. I charge extra for more decorations, fondant, ect.

yes, I beleive a full sheet cake it 2 11x15's together. As far as pricing goes, I think it should depend on how it's decorated. Just some writing and some roses, $50 sounds fair, but if you going all out on decorations, you need to consider your time. Good luck!

I consider it 2 12x18s - one layer each - you can torte it if you want to - I'd recommend using a big flat cookie sheet to lift one layer off the other....

As for pricing - you might want to call around in your area. My area varied a GREAT deal - from around $30 - $175 or more.... so it depends on what you're doing. You might want to ask teh customer what their budget is and what type of decorations they want. I think I charged $60 - $70 for the Golf cake in my photos and it's a half sheetcake but w/ a lot of fondant decorations, etc. - it definitely took me some time!!

Good luck!

These are for a church that has used me for several events before. They want TWO full sheets, one for pastor appreciation and one to welcome a new pastor and his wife to the church, also a baby shower cake for them for that day, I think a 10 inch round for that... They ar going to be eating a bunch of cake that day!

WHOA! DO they KNOW how much cake that is???? You could combine the baby shower cake w/ the "welcome" cake.... like "welcome new pastor, wife, and baby!" - I'd make sure they understand how much cake that is - unless you know you have a big church and you know that the cake will be devoured!

If we're confusing you about the size of a full sheet cake, you can go to the forums and type in the search column full sheet. I know I have to do this sometimes if I get several different answers. thumbs_up.gif

here's a previous thread that might help.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*quarter sheet=9x13(b/c I don't own an 8x12)=28 servings

*halfsheet=12x18=54 servings

*full sheet=18x24 (2 12x18's side by side, unless you have an oven that will hold a huge 18x24 pan)=108 servings

*I refer to my 11x15 as 1/3 sheet=40 servings

These are my guidelines for what its worth. The serving sizes are 2x2" square pieces. Hope this is helpful!

Thanks to everyone! I settles on 2 11X 15 for the full sheet, everyone seems pretty satisfies with that, I am charging $50 per full sheet ( which is insanely cheap when I sat and figured it out. lol) but I love this church, and have several friends pushing me there. hehe. It isn't my church but I feel like it's my church away from my home church. They moved the baby shower to the next Sunday, so they wouldn't be so overwhelmed with cake and some people would actually come to the shower! I so appreciate all your help! I may get a 12 X 18 for the next big cake, but to tell you the truth, I hate sheet cakes, much rather teir it up!
