I have Electric Blue satin ice and Mccalls white
My cake is going to be a graduated white to electric blue.
Do you think it possible that if I mixed the two together for gradual darkening of color that it would work????
Gloria
I would mix alittle just to see if it has an adverse effect on the color that you want. But i really don't see why it wouldn't work.
If you're talking about McCalls Fondant (in Toronto), I've heard a lot of people had trouble colouring it.
I think it was because they use a whitener in their fondant, so when you try to colour it, you can't get the right colour.
You might want to ask Squirrellycakes.

what is satin ice??
I purchased it from Simply Sweets on ebay but I'm sure you can get it anywhere.
Apparently it comes in premixed colors. I purchased electric blue. It has a really nice vanilla taste to it, quite a bit better than the Wiltons I purchased before.

I mixed 1 part blue Satin to 2 parts white McCalls. I got a really nice color (I was looking for cayman blue) very close to what I want.
the only thing now is can I use the kitchen aid to mix the 2 colors together without affecting the texture?????
