I have an order for a Choclate cake, which chocolate icing & a nascar theme.

I've only done work with White buttercream. So I need a really good recipe for chocolate buttercream. And some really awesome idea for decorations with chocolate icing.

THANKS!!
By the way, I'll also need a 12 step program because I am so addicted to this website that I catch myself on here ohhing and awing over cakes when I should be in the kitchen creating LOL icon_biggrin.gif

Who are they a fan of?

If you have to use buttercream (I use cream cheese base for cakes like this icon_smile.gif ) Here is the recipe I use:
1 C Butter (room temp)
1/2 C mile (room temp)
2 t vanilla (or other)
2 LB Conf. Sugar
1/2 C Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 t coffee
*** IT WON"T TASTE LIKE MOCHA ***

Combine all ingredients in mixer bowl, use whip, beat slowly until smooth (5-10 min.)

I use this one because it spreads and pipes well. Which if you're doing a NASCAR cake... the window netting, numbers could be piped with this. You could also back off on the cocoa - subst. more sugar and have different shades of chocolate to fill in the numbers, etc. Actually making this recipe right now to do a "stack of presents" cake that has to be all chocolate (white, milk and dark).

I did a nascar cake, using chocolate fondant. I used an oval pan and made it look like the racetrack. I added some black coloring for the road, and the cars were little toys that I found at Walmart. Here is a picture... http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_739473.html
