This is the first time I've tried chocolate buttercream.
It tastes wonderful, but just doesn't feel the same.
I am very much a novice. But, I'm just wondering if chocolate is more difficult to deal with.
It just doesn't seem as smooth or something.
Or maybe it's my recipe?
Thanks, Doleta

Don't know how you made yours, but I add about 3/4 c. cocoa and 1 or 2 T. water to my regular buttercream. adjust the water to get the right consistency.

Maybe you just need to add a bit more fluid (I use milk) to make up for the cocoa? I do like katskreations and add 3/4 cup cocoa and 2 tbsp milk to my regular BC, and beat the heck out of it icon_lol.gif

I add melted semi-sweet chocolate to my regular buttercream. It is so wonderful. Just make sure that the chocolate is cooled. I was in a hurry last weekend and added it too fast and my frosting melted. But other than that it's so simple and has a great texture.
