ok so i ahve been looking alot online lately to buy some new pans. Why is it that square pans cost so much more than round. a 6 inch round is about half the price of a 6 inch square. am i wrong in thinking they should be more evenly priced????
I agree, I think if anything the square pans would be easier to make! But that is just me! I really don't know of a reason why such a difference in price!
see thats what i thought. i thought it would be easier so it should be cheaper. i guess they dont use logic lol
Maybe it's because the square pans are a bit bigger? Also--the one's I have, have welds on the edges--maybe that's why?

Maybe it's the whole supply and demand thing...But that could work two ways. If more people are buying the round pans the price would go down to keep up with competition...But maybe there's a higher demand for the square pans so manufacturers can afford to jack up the cost?? Who knows?
yeah i was just wondering. its a bit frustrating knowing i bought a 6inch round from walmart for 6 bucks and now im going to have to pay at least 15 for a 6 inch square.
Wow Susan, thats a Lot for a 6 inch, I just bought one last week and I got it for 5.49. Have you looked into getting the 4 pc set? that sounds like it might be cheaper in the long run.
Good Luck

i have a 3 piece i got from michaels it has the 8 12 ans 16 inch. I have not seen any sets with the 6. where did you get it?
so do i which is why i want more sizes. oh well i am going out of town this weekend and will look when im in the bigger city.
The price on Wilton's website is the same for both pans. It is $6.49 for both the round and square 6".
I got my 6" from a bakery in town. I was actually surprised it was only 5.49. I also got the plates but must say am a little sad that you can only get them in odd sizes. 7,9,11,13. But I will get use to them!
