I have been asked to make a martzipan cake (??) never heard of it. I know that is the almond paste, but the cake that they want is supposed to have the martzipan as the main ingredient in the filling, and there are currents in the cake itself?? This cake is for Saturday the 9th, if anyone has a clue about this one, please fill me in.

Thanks! (BTW - it is a British type of cake??)

Actually that is Marzipan... Anyway, MArzipan cakes do not rise that much because almond Paste is somewhat dense. But the taste is very good. There is a cakelike recipe called Venetian Cake that has Marzipan as main ingerdient. Texture is almost like Pound cake. You can try that..
