Has anyone ever stored left over cake batter in the fridge and baked it the next day?

I had some batter left over last night but I didn't have time to bake it so I put it in the fridge. I don't want to waste my time baking it if it isn't going to turn out.

I haven't waited till the next day but I've baked left over batter hours later and there was no discernible difference between the cakes made from freshly mixed batter and the batter that was in the fridge for hours. if anything the cake from the refrigerated batter comes out more even and with less crust.

I've done that a couple of times and didn't have any problems.

Let me know how it turns out. I've been wondering about this.
