YES! YES! YES! I make these all the time. They are so easy I am embarrased to give out the recipe but they get rave reviews every time! My husband has a couple of single friends who take one for each hand when they come in the house!

Triple Chocolate Brownies

1 box choc instant pudding mix
2 c. cold milk
1 box choc cake mix--any kind will do
1 bag choc chips

Mix the milk and pudding mix just like the package says. Dump in the cake mix and stir well. Batter will be really thick. Pour into a bottom-only-greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with choc chips. Yup, the whole bag--it will look like a ton, but the more chocolate the better, I say. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. These are so moist and foolproof that if you forget to set the oven timer or something, you have a while before they actually start to become overdone. Baking them less make them really fudgy and gooey. There's about a 30 minute "screw up window" to these.

Enjoy!

Hi elvisb...what kind of texture do you get with that recipe? Is it fudgy chewy or cakey?

The texture depends on how long you bake it. Around 30 minutes and you will get ooey, gooey, fudgy, and wonderfully messy. 40-45 minutes will firm it up quite a bit, but you still need to lick your fingers well when you are done. 55 minutes or so, and it is much more cake-like and does wonders for the mess factor, but still does not come off as being dry or overdone. My sister likes to go around 30-35 minutes so they are messy. I bake mine for 42 so they're a bit firmer. (Is that a word?) More firm. Whatever. It's too late to be up yet. icon_smile.gif I wouldn't really call them chewy. Less time is more like a really thick fudge. More time is more like a really moist cake.

Anyway, you can't do a toothpick test on these. I forgot to mention that earlier. The toothpick will always come out with something on it. You could bake that pan for hours and think it's not done! Hope that answers your question! icon_smile.gif

I'll have to try these for the kids' Dungeons and Dragons meeting next week. Thanks so much for the recipe! icon_biggrin.gif

SAVING!

Also try putting graham crackers under the mixture, baking, then putting mini marshmallows and baking to just brown the marshmallows, sprinkling on graham cracker crumbs and mini choc chips (optional for crumbs and chips) right away. These are the best! I think the pudding/cake mix recipe would make them just right, keeping the chocolate gooey!

I use skim, my sister uses 1%, and my mom uses 2%, so pretty much anything in the fridge will work. icon_smile.gif
