Ok im making a birthday cake for my sis and I can not get the fondant to look smooth and satiny. any tricks to help?

And a key factor to getting fondant smooth, is to make sure your base is smooth. That means if you iced in buttercream, make sure it is as smooth as possible, otherwise the bumps will show through the fondant. HTH some, Jen
