Hi,

Some history first.....some time back I did a cake for someone and she just did not turn up to pick it up and decided that she also does not have to pay me for it. Since then I have asked for deposits at least 3 days before and so far that has been working well but I now have a lady who ordered a cake last week already for the 21st and has still not paid the deposit. I want to send her an email to remind her but I have no idea on how to word it. Cand someone help???

Since you have been burned before I would send alittle reminder. You did tell her about the deposit correct?? If you did I would say something like I am getting ready to decorate you cake we discussed. And just want to remind you that I need the deposit. I know you are busy and may have forgotten so I am giving you a reminder. Talk to you soon.
I don't know because I haven't really sold any cakes really yet. But in my other dealings with businesses I have been in I have had to give gentle reminders to people that lose track of time. You think you have more time and somehow you lose track of time icon_cry.gif So I would try a gentle reminder and see how it goes. If you don't here from here soon you my need to be alittle more blunt.

Dear _____,
This is a courtesy email to remind you that a deposit of $___ is required at least 3 days in advance of the event. My planner indicates that your event is scheduled for September 21.
In order to have adequate time to plan and make the necessary purchases for your order, please make sure that the deposit is received by September 19 to ensure that your order will be complete.
If there has been a change in plans, please notify me as soon as possible.
Thank you,
____________
