I am getting ready to decorate my first cookies but what is the difference between color and royal icing?? Does is it matter which method I use?

I would use the royal for fill in...color flow is more stiffer, and meant for designs of there own...but in a pinch u could probably use them interchangeablly..icon_smile.gif

I always use royal icing because I'm much more likely to have it on hand, haha. You could use either, and I've used them both, but I like the royal better.

Which one dries faster?

Both about the same. I do the floodwork on mine in the morning when I can, then do extra decorations in the late afternoon, and they're good and dry by the next day.
