My neice is turning sweet 16 in November and her party theme is romantic princess. Maybe not the right description, the hall will me draped with blue lighting with white netting hanging from the ceiling and walls, with pixie dust sprinkled on the floors. The table clothes are a blue irredecent sparkle. She however does NOT want a princess crown cake. She wants a grown-up version of a cinderella fairy party, without the crowns. Does anyone have any ideas or pictures of a cake that would go along with her party theme. I've been looking at the cakes here on cc but the princess cakes look to young for her, unless I'm missing something. Please help. Hey Doug any ideas. icon_biggrin.gif

Well, my first thought with fairies and pixie dust is Tinkerbell, but if that is too young for her, what about a "slipper" on a pillow-shaped cake? There are some excellent ones in the galleries, and an article on how to do a gumpaste shoe on this site. HTH!

What about a cake that looks like Cinderella's Dress?

Like, bottom layers, the belling skirt, and on the top, it has that detail, that almost-sleeve thing? A fondant brooch in hte centre top...?

It could be kinda subtle, but also very cool - I've seen wedding cakes that were very subtle recreations of the wedding dress, and that seems like an amazing idea, but I don't have any images I could link to.
