I've never melted or poured hard candy and I thought that jolly ranchers would probably be my best for making fins for a surfboard. Am I right in assuming this or am I totally off my rocker? Any pointers or other suggestions are needed. Also, how would I get that shape? Thanks all,

When I made shark fins I just used fondant w/ a bit of Tylose kneaded in. I looked at some online pics of fins to get the general idea and just hand modeled them. What are you making the surfboard out of? I'm always leary of using hard candy this time of year due to the heat (and melting!) factor.
