I just got a meeting with a church regarding potential use of their commercial kitchen and I am meeting them in 40 minutes....
The Pastor said that they had a level 1 kitchen and they would be 'upgrading' to a Level 2 in a few weeks... I was under the impression that I need a commercial location to do all the baking of the cakes and prep of frosting but the decorating could be done elsewhere. Does anyone know for sure?
Every time I call the health dept someone new says something different -
Thanks!
Just got the call back from the planning dep't who said no way would a church be acceptable for me to make cakes commercially out of.... I have heard of lots of people using the church kitchens... I don't get it and I am about ready to cry!
The lady sounded so proud of herself and kept saying No way, No way, No way..... Now I have to go meet with the Pastor and speak to him.
Thanks & I will check back.
California will not let you do anything that is why business are leaving. You can make soap and candle out of your house for a business but you have to jump kindom come to have them help. My husband want to move his business to Arizon because of all the crap California put small business threw.
I would have moved to Oregon years ago had it not been for the kids...their Dad lives here so I couldn't very well move them away from him.... I will say this: Once my kids are grown, I am outta here. My entire family lives in Cave Junction and I would give my eye teeth to be with them! Not to mention, Or laws are sooo much easier!
The Pastor is friends with the owner of a diner in town so he is going to talk to him about me using the kitchen in their 'off' hours.... I will cross my fingers... and say a prayer, of course
My husband and I may be moving to northern cali and I just calle the dept. of agriculture, which you cannot even build a kitchen onto your home (like you can in florida), they said it gets into the zoning laws. They stink...
