I have just moved into a new home & would love to host a cookie exchange this year. Does anyone have any good ideas for this kind of get together? I've only been to one before & it was combined with a pampered chef party... As there will be a lot for people who don't know each other I'm just trying to think of ideas, so people don't get bored & have lots of fun!!! Any suggestions are greatly appriciated thumbs_up.gif

My friend always have a Cookie Exchange party every Christmas, and I love it so much. I look forward to it every year. There is really nothing very different, except that each person needs to bring at least
three dozen cookies. And all the cookies are laid out on a long table. In my experience, I think they should not be wrapped as a whole (like a gift basket)..but to wrap or packaged them individually. That way it is easy for everyone to pick and transport home.

And she also usually prepares finger foods and beverages buffet style on another long table for guest to enjoy. icon_smile.gif

I have been to two of them, first year we brought our cookie dough and made the cookies while we chatted and Drank in the kitchen...down side cookies bake fast so when its your turn to bake your cookies, you are working and not socializing as much...the second year we made them in advance...also since I knew how many people were going to be there, I wrapped up equal amounts of my cookies one for each person...

lots of fun!

I think it would be neat to print copies of the recipes since people are bound to want them...or it that a no-no? Are people weird about that? They won't want to share so they can be the coolest baker in the neighborhood? icon_cool.gif
