I've started a group photo album for sharing edible images. WooHoo! It's a searchable gallery of edible images. You can download images to use or upload ones to share. This is considered a personal photo album so there are no restrictions on what can be uploaded or downloaded (nothing offensive of course). Images can be ones you've found or ones you've made. Anyone can join!

Can't wait to see everyone else's edible images. I've uploaded about a third of my own collection so far. Hope to see you there!

You're welcome sue-dye and Kiddiekakes!

Just to answer some questions I've gotten...

Edible images are images that are printed on frosting sheets using edible inks. They can be used to decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, candies and chocolates.

This group is for sharing images that can be made into edible images.

The images can be downloaded (large size), edited (if needed) and printed.

Anyone can become a member and once you become a member, you can send out invitations.

Membership is free. Only members can access the images.

Shouldn't be...I loaded about 90 pics before I hit my limit for the month. I can't wait till next month so I can start adding more pics! When you click the upload link it should tell you what % you have left for the month.

To add pics to a group, click on the organizer. When that opens, click on the groups tab on the right. The group you belong to will be displayed. Click and drag your pics into the group you want to add them to.

Pics (clipart, etc) for edible images go here at the Edible Images group.

If you want to post pics of your cakes (with or without edible images), there is a link at the Edible Images group to another group called Cake Fun.

Glad you joined! Can't wait to see your pics.

Lisa, is there a gauge we can use to know whether or not a picture/clipart is suitable (requirements in size, pixels, etc.) for an edible image and would reproduce properly? Janice

If you're wanting to fill a full frosting sheet (10x7.5"), you'll need large images. The best way to do this is to search for only large images. Like this...

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=balloons&ei=UTF-8&fr=sfp&imgsz=large

http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&imgsz=xxlarge&biw=1131&q=balloons

In the upper right hand corner...you can select the size pics you want to search for.

After you click on a picture, you'll see an option to view different sizes. Click on that. Then you'll have the option to download the large size (will be larger than it appears on the screen). Glad you joined!

Hi Lisa, I've joined too, but still have questions!

Just now I tried some of the large balloon pics, copied them into my Corel Draw, and when I enlarge them to the size for an image, they go "dithery" and would not look sharp and clear on a cake! Is it just a matter of finding the ones that stay sharp, or do I need to work with them in another program? Sorry to be a pest, but I don't want to try to save and then upload the pics if they won't work for our purposes. Janice

The balloon images that came up in the searches should size sharp for edible images. Did you click on the pic and then choose to show only the image? This will give you the large size you need to save. Most of them need to be reduced in size instead of enlarged. Also, try sizing them in inches if you haven't already. It might be the program you're using...I've never used Corel so I'm not sure. I use Photofiltre...free and fantastic! It's here if you want to download

I'm glad you joined!

I'm not sure...never used Infranview. Of the ones I have used, Photofiltre is the best. It can do everything and anything to an image. If you're happy with the one you're using and it does everything you want it to, I wouldn't switch.
