So, I'm doing a cake for a friend's wedding. It's pretty much up to me. He said simple, but that was only for my benefit and since it's not often that I get to do any design I want, I'd like it to be amazing.

The wedding colours are white and navy. So, I was thinking something modern and elegant in all white, since I'm not a navy fan and haven't found anything really spectacular, really amazing in navy.

I was thinking maybe a sash cake, because they're terribly impressive, but relatively easy, as in I'm trying to find a cake that I can at least do some of the decor on ahead of time - in this case, the bows/flowers. As opposed to having to do a ton of piping or something that can only be done at the end. If that makes sense!

I have these two pictures (I'm really, really sorry - I don't want to get in trouble - I don't know where they're from, I just had them saved) that I love and was leaning towards, but I don't know. I mean, the sky is the limit on this cake.

So, any over the top incredible wedding cakes you've always wanted to try?

I love both of these cakes!! Have you ever done the drapes/sashes before? I want to try them but haven't gotten up the courage yet!
