I did the cake for my cousins wedding shower this weekend. Which I was really excited about. It's in my pics w/ strawberry's. But, come to find out her future MIL was a professional wedding cake decorator. So naturally I was like aaaaggghh! 
, I am very new to this, and here is a professional decorator. But, she actually came to me and told me what a great job I did and that it tasted wonderful, and wanted to know what type of filling I used. 
We ended up talking cakes for upwards of 2 hrs. She gave me alot of pointers and also offered to mentor me one weekend only problem she live 4 hrs away 
I think that I will have to take a weekend trip 
But she really made me feel good, I was so excited, maybe too excited my DH was like ok I get it she really liked your cake. Just thought I would share !!! Thanks for listening 
thats so great, its so cool when someone who knows about cakes thinks yours is good especially when you are a newbie.
Lol. That is great. It feels good when someone that knows what they are talking about tells you that you did good.
You are very lucky to have found an experienced mentor ,even if she is 4 hours away.Don't miss that opportunity and remember there is the telephone for those special advices at the last moments when help or reassurance is greatly needed.
