Hello all, I am making up some flowers for a local farmers market that I will be participating in....any idea how long RI lasts in a freezer? I want to give my customers an idea of how long they can keep them. Thank you guys sooooo much!!!

Do you mean Royal Icing - not sure I've ever heard of RI being frozen before... Will these be on cakes that the customer can freeze for themselves?
Think RI flowers should keep well in airtight tin.

I wouldnt think you could freeze RI as it breaks down pretty quick when it gets wet. Not sure it could handle being thawed out (think condensation).
You can keep them for months (or longer) if stored in a cool dry place in an air tight container. HTH!

I think RI last for years!!!! I made some flowers about 10 years ago when I took a class and kept it in a Tupperware container and the flowers still looked and tasted good. They were in a closet, so I forgot about them. thumbs_up.gif

As stated before, royal icing will keep for a very long time in an airtight container in a cool dry place. RI does not do well at all in any kind of moisture (humidity) so you do not want to put it in the freezer where it can be affected by any kind of condensation. Make your flowers ahead of time, let the dry completely and store them air tightly. You will be very pleased at how long you can store them. thumbs_up.gif
