I'm a newbie here, and I would like to experiment with combining cake flavours and fillings.

Can you give me some good combinations that are potentially starting points?

I'm trying to decide if alternating layers of yellow cake/chocolate cake with vanilla/chocolate BC or vanilla/chocolate/strawberry filling would be good? too much? etc.

Thanks. icon_rolleyes.gif

I usually stick to one or two types of cake - your vanilla/chocolate combo is good - and then one type of filling. I think if you start mixing cake types AND filling types, that is a little too much. But it all comes down to your personal (or client's) preference.

I think a lot of people enjoy the froo froo cake combos. Just experiment and see what works for you.

I have heard of mixing the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry making a Neopolitan Cake. Other that want different flavors, usually has a different flavor for each cake tier. Good luck!
