Like 10 lbs... which totally confused me since I make all the cake for others and am never there to eat it....

Then one day I realized that I was eating every 'cake top' icon_redface.gif with fillling....... and frosting.

Hence, my chunky butt! icon_lol.gif

I have NO idea what you are talking about! I'm just as slim as I was when I started.

Oh, but wait - this "JLO Booty" I've got going on here - where on earth could that have come from? It couldn't possibly have come from sampling everything I make, could it? NO WAY!

lol....that's funny. i gained weight when i first became a stay at home mom with my second son. now with my third son (yes three boys) i've actually lost 30 lbs. i've discovered chewing gum while baking/decorating keeps me from snacking on my "trash".

Too funny (well, not really). I'm just beginning at this, and I would *love* to make a cake every day to practice simple decorations, borders, flavors, etc. But of course then I'd eat everything too! My husband & kids will certainly help, but since I'm a stay-at-home mom, that means I stay at home with the cake all day icon_redface.gif

I'm (unfortunately), right there with ya! A couple of years ago I lost 40lbs with Weight Watchers and looked pretty good - since then I've gained 37lbs back icon_cry.gif . I started back on Weight Watchers again on Monday, but it's tough going with all the chocolate and other tasty ingredients laying around the house!

Edited to add - the gum trick does NOT work for me icon_sad.gif !

YES!!!! Lotta weight. My honey and I both took Wilton Classes so we were making two cakes a week. There are 3 children and 4 adults in our home, after the third week we all gained weight. By the time we finished the classes we were giving the cakes away to the homless in our area. Hopefully they gained weight!

Usually I go into summer looking OK only to gain it over the winter months... but Oh NO! Now I am starting out about 15 lbs. ahead which mean if I don't get off my butt and use my treadmill for something other than a quilt rack, I am going to be in trouble. icon_cry.gif

Well, I am trying to be SUPER careful about "subconscious" eating......WAY, WAY too often I find myself licking the beaters, "taste testing" a recipe or "making sure" something tastes right. I think THAT is what puts the weight on. I am not crazy about cake in and of itself (I think it's kind of boring), but add in some luscious filling and delicious icing and YUM, YUM. icon_biggrin.gif

I lost 80 pounds two years ago (obesity runs in my family) and I've managed to stay within 10 pounds of where I want to be, so I don't wanna blow it now with all of this baking and decorating.

You think that if I sing this all day I'll put two and two together and realize what made me so fat??? icon_rolleyes.gif

I've gained weight since I gave birth fourteen months ago! I'm also a SAHM and love to bake. And since I started my quest for the perfect cake and perfect icing for my kids' birthday cakes, the pounds are adding up. At one point I thought I was done searching for recipes because I had a good cake and icing recipe........then I found CC. icon_cry.gif I'm totally addicted but am trying to break the habit until I am in need of a real answer. I'm such a newbie that I just surf through old threads getting new tips, ideas, and recipes, not looking for anything in particular.

I honestly think I need to stay away from CC for awhile because when I'm here all I think about is CAKES! I'm really worried about what will happen next month when I start my Wilton class. icon_sad.gif

My son is 16 months old and although I really watched it while I was preggo (since I already needed to lose weight before pregnancy) I just cant seem to use it as a jumping point...I only gained 14lbs and my son was 9lbs 2oz of that! You would think (or maybe I just assumed) that I would drop not only below the 14 lbs I gained but even lower.....grrr so far I am only down 4 lbs from my pre-preggo weight...and this after walking 2 miles every day for 5 months!

As for what to do during Wilton Classes....send all the cakes to hubby's work...since I too am a SAHM....I send them all with him (they didnt like course II as well since you dont make a cake every week...lol).

Oh girls! Yes, Yes, Yes! 4 months ago I started curves and loved it. Lost 6 inches my first month, but zero pounds. The very next month I started my Wilton 1 class, and haven't been back to curves at all. They keep calling and sending post cards, and I just keep on bakin', makin' icing, and stuffin' my face. icon_rolleyes.gif

Put back on all 6 inches I had taken off, and probably added 6 more! icon_eek.gif

I'm going back tonight now that I am in Wilton Gumpaste class where we don't bake cakes and I have time to go workout. I'm excited about it cause at one time in my life I was proud that my gut didn't stick out more than the top, but now I just stick out on my butt, gut, and top! I'm lookin' like I'm in a constant state of pregnancy - about 8 months worth. icon_cry.gif

I wanna be a skinny baker & cake decorator!!!!!!
