I've just been so tired lately and would love to hear what everyone else is going through! I've been so tired that instead of eating lunch on my lunch break, I shut the office door and sleep. icon_twisted.gif

I am just curious of what everyone's life is like... icon_lol.gif

Please share your schedule!

Here's mine:

Monday-Friday
Wake up at 5am and get readdy for work. Leave for work at 6am and get home around 5:30pm. Cook dinner for the hubbie and I. Finish eating dinner around 7:00pm. Work on cake(s) from 7:00pm-11pm(usually later). Go to sleep, wake up and do it all again.

Saturday
"Sleep In" til 7am- they finish order(s) for Saturday. Deliver orders. Clean up. Finish everything (hopefully) by 5pm. Rest with Husband (Which really means run errands).

Sunday
Leave for church at 9am. Church (and church activities) from 9:45am-2:30pm. Visit with friends for the rest of the day.

Start the week all over again....

But I do LOVE decorating!!!

I can't even imagine when we throw kids into the mix (which we are working on)...I would love to hear how everyone else runs their weeks!

I work full time and have my stepkids during the weekend. That basically means weeknights I can work on cakes if I have one due for the weekend. That may change soon though because my DH's ex is thinking of switching roles with us. Meaning we get them on weekdays and she has them on weeknights so that means I will pretty much be playing the same role that you are. I'm wondering though if I'm up to it icon_confused.gif

My story is long......

I own a bakery / sub shop that I am at from 7:30 until about 2:00 at which time I leave and go to my husbands business where I am his bookkeeper-office manager. I leave there about 5:00, go home where I have 4 teenagers, 3 are mine, one is not but needed some where to stay so she is just like mine now !!! Also have another daughter who is out on her own and has my 2 beautiful grandsons that I see everyday because their mother works with me. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif I also take care of them on weekends so she can work a second job....I am also youth leader at my church (Which unfortunately burnt to the ground last Friday night icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif ) I teach teenagers from 12 to 20 something (depends on how long they want to stay with me). I love this job more than any of the rest I think, To be able to teach kids of Gods love is one of the greatest rewards ever. I do church on Tues, and Wed evenings, Sunday morning and evening and once a month on Monday evenings. My church time starts at 7:00 pm on the evenings I attend so from 5:00 until about 6:45 I am cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. I don't have much me time at all !!!! But that's my life and I don't think that I would trade a thing.....but would love to have a week off every now and then. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Here goes mine (and it may be long too):

Weekdays
I wake up at 5:45, shower, get dressed, make up, hair, etc. so I don't have to worry about how I look anymore... go make lunch and snack bags for older daughter, lunch for husband and myself, and get bottle ready for the baby. If there are dirty dishes from the night before, tackle them too. Make breakfast and take daily vitamin!!! (much needed!!!) icon_wink.gif

Get girl's clothes ready and start changing baby (she wakes up first). Then get older one ready, sometimes daddy does it while I get the baby's hair done. Feed them breakfast. Leave house, drop older daughter at school, drive to work. (Baby goes with daddy).
Work from 8:30 to around 4:15, pick up both girls from school, go home to play with them until daddy comes home and I can prepare dinner, eat dinner, clean up, go give girls baths. Get them ready for bed (teeth cleaning, pj's, story, etc.). Put girls to bed.
Clean up house (always a mess). Walk the dogs.
If it is Thursday or Friday and I have a cake order, bake cakes and start decorating.
Exhausted, go to bed...

Saturdays
Usually finish cakes (if any), take older daughter to gymnastics and then have the day to be with family. Run errands, grocery shopping, etc.

Sundays
Take girls to swimming classes (one first, then the other - back to back) and then have rest of day to also be with family.

Start all over again!!!
Just writing about it made me tired!!!!! icon_lol.gif

Well I"m a full time stay at home mom. I have 5 yr old (starting K this fall) and an almost 3 yr old. So between them being at that stage of still needing me for lots of things and swim lessons, school, playdates, etc we stay decently busy to start with. In addition I run a handmade soap and bath product business (I make everything) out of my home (going on 6.5 yrs now). So I keep up with that as well.

Though now with cakes I think I like it more than my soap stuff icon_biggrin.gif I'm dreaming of opening a cake shop one day icon_wink.gif

Basically when I have cakes to do I start baking close to the weekend and work as I can throughout the day and in the evenings. But I can get lots done even during the day. Fortunately hubby is home on the weekends for when I need to spend all Sat morning doing a cake (like last weekend). JUST in case the kids are in a mood icon_evil.gificon_lol.gif

Mon - Friday: Get up at 6 to get all 3 kids ready(1,2, 6) and myself. leave for work at 7:30 and dont get home (due to commute) until 6:00pm. Spend 6-8:30 with kids icon_sad.gif wish it was more and then after bedtime work on cakes until ... 11 or 12. Definately 12 or 1 on Friday

Saturday: "sleep in" til 7:30 and make kids breakfast. While they eat I start finishing up order. Clean kids up and start them on project or games. Play with them until 12 and (luckily) make the deliveries during naptime (haven't had too many conflicts yet). Come home clean up. Play with kiddies during the evening. back to cake stuff in the evening (usually while watching a movie)

Sunday: kids, church, cleaning. laundry. laundry and then pass out sunday night by 11 or so.

I work full time at our local school as the payroll clerk and treasurer. I also do part time grant writing I got (700,000.00 for our little school last year). I have two children who play baseball, softball, and gymnastics and are active at our church. I help my husband with our little ranch we have about 25 head of cattle and chickens and dogs. I am a night owl so all of my decorating is done after the kids are in bed.

I work Monday-Friday until 5:00 p.m. I have to get up every morning at 5:00 a.m., unless my 5-month-old gets me up earlier. I get my kids' bags ready for the sitter. I drive my three kids to the sitter (half hour, round-trip) and then drive 45 minutes to an hour to work. I get off at 5:00 and drive an hour and a half to the sitter. I get home anywhere between 7:00-7:30. Then I have to get dinner for the kids and get their baths. I usually have cleaning, laundry, and baseball for my step-son thrown in the mix and my 5-month-old needs attention quite a bit. I make cakes starting around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. and bake/decorate until anywhere between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. icon_sad.gif....but I love what I do. I decorate cakes on the weekend also.

I work full-time at an ad agency. We're involved in church, so that's usually our Wednesday and Sunday activities. I take my cake classes on Tuesday. We don't have kids, and I only bake cakes for class (when needed) or for "events" we go to. I do have a two-hour roundtrip commute everyday, but that's the worst of it. So, we're not too stressed all time.

I am a teacher of Hoodoo. I will be giving a 6 week workshop at the local Metaphysical shop it is based on my 1st of of 3 manuscripts on the subject.

I massage private clients.

About a year ago I used to teach yoga to kids and adults on occasion. I'm an herbalist/aromatherapist and I still make my own toiletries.

I work full-time as the Assistant Controller at an international glass manufacturing facility. I am very greatful for my career but there is not much room for creativity in accounting. If I get creative at my job, I go to jail; therefore, the cake hobby. icon_lol.gif

I do cakes in the evening and on the weekends. It's my therapy. I am single so I get to be in my own little cake zone at home when I am baking and decorating. It has saved me from going nuts in the corporate world.

Great thread!

I am a full time legal secretary in a small town/rural area. I'm up at 6:00 a.m. M-F, leave for work at 8:00; Back home at 5:00; Cook supper then the usual dishes, laundry, cleanup, etc. Then cake baking or icing making begins!! I am a newbie to cake decorating - but I just did 11 cakes and 2 batches of cookies in 8 days this past week!!

I attend Church, lead the Family Life Committee and the College Care Packages for our college age members.

I have a WONDERFUL husband and 2 great children - who are both in college --$$$$$ icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif My husband works a fulltime job and has a parttime handyman business too!! Of which I am the bookkeeper!!

I have loved to bake all my life and learned most of what I know at the feet of my paternal grandmother. I took my first cake decorating class when I was 14 and now 30 years later I am finally doing something with it!! And looking forward to taking Courses II and III.

Now that both children are in college and aren't quite the drain on my nerves as when they were at home full time I have the patience to decorate and create cakes!! My daughter even commented this past weekend that I had way too much patience!! My DH and I laughed and I said - "Well - NOONE has ever said THAT to me before!!".

I am loving the cake decorating world and work. I come from a long line of crafters/decoraters in my family and cake decorating is my outlet.

Thanks for asking and I love this thread too!!

i feel ya....i'm married with 3 children & 2 step children.....my step-sons visit every other weekend....and my hubby works 2 jobs as well (gotta pay for those 5 kids!icon_lol.gif) here's my hectic schedule....

Mon-Fri
5:30am - wake up and go for my daily 2 mile walk
6:30am - get ready for work, wake up kids and get them ready (hubby leaves for work as soon as i'm back from walking at 6:15am)
8am - leave the house, drop off kids at school/daycare and head to full time job
5 or 6pm - leave work & pick up kids & go home (hubby & i alternate with kid pick up)
6 or 6:30pm - dinner
7 or 7:30pm - homework, kid quality time
8pm - start bedtime routine (bath, teeth, story, etc.)
9pm - all 3 in bed and cake decorating begins
anywhere from 12-3am - finally go to bed
back up at 5:30 to start over

Saturday is hectic with sports, finishing cake orders and making cake deliveries, trying to fit in quality time with family, etc.

Sundays i try to leave for just church and family, but i usually end up working on cakes after the kid's bedtime again.....just trying to get a head start on my week

good to hear i'm not alone with the hectic schedule thing.....i've gotten so use to getting very little sleep, but at times i feel like a walking zombie.....the only thing that keeps me going is knowing that one day i'll b able to quit the 9-5 and do nothing but cakes! thumbs_up.gif

I work full-time M-F so 6a to 6p is work. Hubby and I both work at the same place (different departments) so our time in the HOV lane is our "quality time". Then it's home stuff - or since my "other-other" life is coaching a competition dance team - team stuff takes up my evenings.

Weekends are usually chores - we've been working on either getting our house finished to make it more liveable or sell-able - whichever we finally decide. Most of the work falls to me since hubby works a second job to help "feather the nest".

I havent done much in the way of cakes lately icon_sad.gif I really miss that.

Starting in December I'll be doing three night a week practices with my team and then Jan-March is competition season - which takes between 4-6 weekends depending on how many competitions we decide to do.

Other than that we've got our DIL and grandson living with us - stepson is stationed in Quantico (Marines) until November. New granddaughter due in October.

Wow, you guys are sure busy out there.

I'm a stay at home mom to two kids. My oldest(11) loves to sleep in, so weekends are great. We all sleep late. During the school year, she has to get up a 6:30 but my DH gets up with her, makes her lunch and takes her to school. When the baby gets up is when I get up, usually between 7 and 8 am. I spend the day taking care of the house, I'm a neat freak, so I clean pretty much everyday. Between dishes, laundry, potty training an almost 2 year old, and helping older daughter with homework, I keep myself busy.
I try to do cakes in the evening or when the baby is napping (if I don't take that time to shower, I take what I can get). Weekends we run around doing whatever the kids want, mostly the park or the mall.
Church on sundays and then visit the inlaws.

I work full time for a non-profit organization....Mon-Fri, 7:30am - 4:30pm. I usually get home around 5:00 then do then usual stuff like make dinner, run errands, yard work, etc. And I try to walk on the treadmill 4-5 times a week. During the school year I have childern's choir on Wed evenings.

We don't have any kids......yet, but working on it.

My weekends are pretty busy. I'm the apartment ministry coordinator for my church and we have activities every other Saturday that I have to plan and coordiate. Then there is always something that needs to be fixed around the house or we have to make a trip to visit family.

I don't make that many cakes........mostly just for co-workers and family.
