I tried making some calla lilies for a wedding cake. Can I use these? I won't be hurt by the truth! Thanks.

P.S. I am making leaves also.

I think it depends on how elegant the design is and the customer.
I probbly would depending on how they are put on. In clusters or individual? So much depends on the look you want.

They look good, some of them have ruffled petals and some don't...is there a reason for that? Also, some of petals don't wrap all the way around covering the yellow. You would say you can use them, but my question would be what you charged for them. It's the kind of thing where they look good, they could be better, and depending on what they were charged, you should or shouldn't use them.

I am using them in clusters. The bride paid for a basic cake ($1.50/slice)and her flowers are calla lilies and bird of paradise. Last I checked she doesn't have a topper so I wanted to put something on the top of each cake. I don't like using fake flowers on the cake so I decided to try these since I had leftover gumpaste and fondant from my last paid cake.

Here is what her cake will look like. The only difference is she wants dots on the cake instead of the ruffles.

Oh the ones that don't have ruffles were my first attempt icon_redface.gif

They are gorgeous. I would use them. You can hide anything in a "cluster" by displaying the flower in just the right manner ... Go for it.
