Hi All!
I would like to attempt to make the Fiesta cake found in the 2003 WIlton Yearbook. It's a sombrero with an upturned brim made out of fondant on top of the cake. Rather than use the fondant how about using candy clay instead? Does the candy clay harden up at all or will the brim just droop?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know the answer to this question but thought I'd bump it up and see if anyone else might know. I love that cake, been wanting to try it myself...can't wait to see how your cake turns out.
candy clay hardens up even better than fondant BUT not in the summer
I have mixed 1/2 candy clay with fondant and it works great and even the nasty wilton tastes good that way but again in the summer it will droop with the heat keep it airconditioned and it should work but do not transport.
