I need to make strawberry buttercream icing but I need it white. Has anyone used the Lorien oils to flavor their buttercream and if so how many drops do you use. I know these flavorings are very strong and I don't want to over do it.
Thanks
Debbie
I used the marshamllow and the cheesecake oils a few times and by putting in three or four drops, I got a mild hint of flavor. The strawberry might have a more intense flavor though.
Thank you MrsMissey. I checked the LorAnn (i spelled it wrong in the subject) website and they said 1/2 tsp per 3C of buttercream. I can't imagine using that much. When I used the oils for making hard candy it was very strong. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I couldn't find my eye dropper so I used a clean, sealed syringe and added 1/2CC (1/4 tsp maybe) to each batch of buttercream. I used vanilla and butter extract also. It is awsome! My son wanted to eat the whole batch for dessert!

It's going on a vanilla cake. It's for a 1st birthday ~ she wanted a tiered vanilla cake with strawberry flavored icing with a pink teddy bear theme. The smash cake will be the same flavors with a pig theme (they call the little one piglet). I'll post pictures probably Monday. The cake gets delivered on Saturday - i'm just getting prepared!

MrsMissy, did you like the cheesecake flavor? I've been wanting to get that to try in BCI hoping to give the flavor of cream cheese without it having to be refrigerated.
I'm also intrigued by the root beer flavor, and I thought I saw sassafras in there somewhere, I used to love the sassafras tea that my grandmother used to make for me! Janice
..yeah, the cheesecake had a nice mild flavor...I probably could have added more, for a more intense flavor but was afraid to over do it! Lorann does have Sassafrass in a 1oz dram, the Root Beer flavor comes in a 1oz and 2oz. dram...sounds tasty!
Thanks Missy. I really want to try this, but I haven't made it to my cake supply store, and it costs so much in shipping to order it online.
Boy, I can almost tast that sassafras...got to get to the store! Janice
