Hi,
I made this cake for a fire fighter's wedding today, 7/7/07! The bride and groom were so excited for this idea and brought me the bride figurine and toy accessories. The ladders, hoses and hydrants are made out of MMF and the cake is frosted in buttercream with a brick impression. ( hard to tell from this pic) The fire man on the ladder is suppose to represent the groom climbing up to save his bride.
They even had an actual ax engraved with their names to use as the cake knife. Cute, huh? I am dying to know how they liked it!
I can't remember who ( maybe tcturtleshell) had a similar cake posted here but I remember seeing it a long time ago and got the inspiration from it and another cake the bride showed me.
Thanks for looking!

Kim, I saw this cake earlier when it was on the front page, and really liked it! DIdn't have time to comment then, but I think you did an excellent job. I'd love to hear how the bride and groom liked it, too, though I can only imagine they'd be absolutely delighted. This is a fantastic cake, and you carried it out so very well!!! Great job!!!
What a great idea!!! I love it when brides want something different!! I bet more people will remember this cake and in turn remember to ask the bride who made the cake!!!
What a great cake Kim. I'll bet every guest there was wide eyed and I have a feeling the photographer took lots of photos from different angles.
